1992, Introduction of the first crawler drill manufactured
in Iran in the fairs:

May 1992: in Tehran Ores and Mineral Machineries International Fair, the first crawler drill manufactured in Iran was visited and welcomed by the ex-president, Mr.Hashemi Rafsanjani and many authorities and directors, experts and users of companies and domestic and foreign centers, especially foreign manufacturers of such machineries.

Drilling in

June 1992: In Tehran Heavy Industry International Fair, the first crawler drill manufactured in Iran was visited and welcomed by former vice-president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Habibi, and domestic and foreign authorities and experts and users of such machineries.

Due to importance of the production of this machine in Iran, Minister of Heavy Industries, Dr. Nejad Hosseinian, personally describes the significance of production project to the president and the vice-president in both fairs in May and June.

Successes achieved simultaneously with the fairs in 1992:

Sanee Industrial Co. negotiated with users from private sector and reputable ministries of the country and concluded sales contract.
The most reputable foreign manufacturers of crawler drills welcomed cooperation with Sanee Industrial Co. for manufacturing the machines similar to their machineries in Iran.

Spring 1992: Selection of Atlas Copco multinational and reputable company for negotiation and cooperation with the aim of promotion and transfer of technology and top production in Iran.

Since the first crawler drill manufactured by Sanee Industrial Co. in Iran was welcomed, within the first days after the fair in 1992, managing director of Atlas Copco AB, Sweden, Mr. Bretil Lindsten, visited production site and specialized capabilities of Sanee Industrial Co. in order to investigate the strategies for cooperation with reputable foreign manufacturers in order to continue production of crawler drills in Iran, following the negotiations.

Since this visit and the frequent negotiations thereafter were successful, the conditions were provided for inviting policy-makers of Atlas Copco from Sweden and Germany for having a similar visit from Iran.

Realization of such visit could pave the way for bilateral domestic and foreign cooperation for transferring technology and manufacturing the machineries similar to those of Atlas Copco, called ROCs, in Iran.

Summer 1992: After the fairs, presence of the first machine manufactured in Iran in ore exploitation site and simultaneously, visit of the senior managers of Ministry of Mines and Metals and managers and experts from other user ministries:

From quality of drilling and successful performance of the first crawler drill manufactured in Iran in ore exploitation site as well as the site for production of machines in Sanee Industrial Co.

Fall 1992: Realization of travel of the decision-making managers of Atlas Copco in Sweden and Germany to Iran and achievement of the following agreements:

Following the efforts and agreements made, manager of Atlas Copco Factory in Bremen, Germany, Mr. Sondenius, accompanied with another manager and representative from Atlas Copco, Mr. E. Saxon, traveled to Iran and visited the capabilities of Sanee Industrial Co., accompanied with the managers of Atlas Copco A.B., Mr. Bretil Lindsten, and Mr. Morteza Vaziri, and the parties negotiated successfully.

Since mutual trust and confidence was established between Atlas Copco and Sanee Industrial Co., cooperation agreement with very valuable and remarkable content was made for manufacturing the machineries similar to those of Atlas Copco in Iran in technology transfer, design and assembly method, using the latest parts and components manufactured by affiliates of Atlas Copco in Europe, as selected and requested by Sanee Industrial Co., under the Iranian name of "Iran Sanee ROC", Atlas Copco and Sanee Industrial Co. agree to declare these agreements in writing to the related ministries and centers and reputable Iranian purchasers and users.

Fall 1992: Achievement of valuable success, receiving the notice of Ministry of Heavy Industries

to the ministries, centers, users and importers regarding manufacture of crawler drills in Iran by Sanee Industrial Co. and consequently prohibition of their importation to the country.

Fall 1992: Success of Sanee Industrial Co. in obtaining the approval and support and written notice regarding exceptional cooperation by Atlas Copco, following steady efforts and achievement of valuable results from visits and negotiations during several months;

Nov. 25, 1992: Atlas Copco A.B., Sweden, sent a letter to the reputable centers and users and key characters in Iran including ministers of the related ministries such as Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Mines and Metals, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Jihad and etc. signed by its Swedish managing director, Mr. Bretil Lindsten.

Atlas Copco and Sanee Industrial Co. hereby declare their capability in manufacturing crawler drills and selling them to Iranian customers. Winter 1993: The successes achieved in the negotiations in Atlas Copco, Italy, in Milan, between the directors and Atlas Copco Companies of Iran, Italy, Sweden, Germany and Sanee IND. Co. on one hand and related insurance companies and banks on the other hand for removing the problems regarding L/Cs related to parts and components required for production;

During the harsh years when world banks and insurance companies created problems for accepting Iranian L/Cs and production of high quality machines encountered a serious problem due to impossibility of receiving special parts and components, traveling to Italy hosted by Atlas Copco, Italy, for negotiations in Milan. While negotiations, the latest manufactured machines were visited and agreements made for receiving the latest products from Italy and more important, the problems were removed for accepting L/Cs and Swedish and Italian components were sent, which were related to production of crawler drills specified in contacts of Sanee Industrial Co. with its customers in Iran.

1991 to 1995: Visit of production site by senior authorities and directors:

Senior directors and authorities of Ministry of Heavy Industries of Iran and user companies affiliated to various ministries visited production site and startup of crawler drills in Sanee Industrial Co. for examining production capabilities.

1995: Achievement of valuable success from visits by the authorities, obtaining further notice of Ministry of Industries signed by Metal Industries Vice-minister:

Directed to the users of such machines including Ministry of Mines and Metals, Ministry of Road and Transportation, Ministry of Construction Jihad, Ministry of Defense and Support of Armed Forces and Ministry of Energy
Indicating existence of the facilities for production and obtaining exploitation permit and mass production of various pneumatic crawler drills in Iran by Sanee Industrial Co.

June 1996: Achievement of exceptional successes in significant international tender for Kroon III Dam:

Technical Commission of the Tender acknowledged existence of unique design in horizontal drilling in Iranian machine as compared to all participants", while all introduced machines belonged to foreign manufacturers and companies. Finally, commission of the tender commented unanimously that machines of Iranian company, Sanee Industrial Co., were superior to all participants.

June 1995: Achievement of success in sending a letter directly signed by Minister of Industries, Eng. Nematzadeh, to Minister of Energy, Eng. Zangeneh;

Indicating support of domestic production with high technical quality, mentioning the valuable sentences: "Based on the comment of Technical Commission of the Tender, the machines manufactured by domestic manufacturing company (Sanee Industrial Co.) have the best conditions with respect to technical and cost-effectiveness respects. In order to support domestic production, this ministry extraordinarily finances the foreign currency required for purchasing raw materials and standard items for this project".

1996: Receiving valuable notice of Ministry of Industries to Users:

"Manufacturing various pneumatic crawler drills in Iran exclusively by Sanee Industrial Co."

1996: Receiving valuable notice of Atlas Copco to users:

"... Pneumatic crawler drills similar to ROCs of Atlas Copco in Iran has been exclusively manufactured by Sanee Industrial Co. so far and the required parts are supplied by this company as before according to the agreements between Sanee Industrial Co. and Atlas Copco.

September 1996: Achievement of an exceptional success in an important tender for purchasing crawler drill for Kosar Dam Project- Cyber Company:

Tender formalities was abandoned in favor of Sanee Industrial Co. and the purchase contract was concluded due to uniqueness of its products in Iran, based on the excellence declared by Technical and Purchase Commissions of Karoon III Tender, Cyber Company affiliated with Ministry of Energy, regarding the machines of Sanee Industrial Co. and more importantly, direct notices and letters of Ministry of Industries and Atlas Copco AB to ministries and their affiliated companies, including Ministry of Energy, indicating uniqueness of production of this machines in Iran by Sanee Industrial Co.

The most important accomplishment achieved by Sanee Industrial Co. following this success and its following contract was to possibility of presence in reputable dam construction sites for comparing the capabilities of the machines manufactured in Iran with other foreign machines as well as getting comments of the users of machine including the experts, foremen, operators, managers, drilling experts and various service, maintenance and repair sections of the machineries working in exploitation sites.

June 1997: Achievement of success and startup and delivery and obtaining approval of the group of authorities, experts and users in Kosar Dam Project:

Indicating efficiency of the machines, mentioning a valuable sentence in delivery proces-verbal: "Full satisfaction of foremen and experts proves the successful performance of the first crawler drills manufactured in Iran by Sanee Industrial Co."

By two machines: Drilling on rocky surface of vertical front of the mountain, in line with different axes in parallel and perpendicular surfaces, for bolting, cementing and constructing a firm wall for dam crest. The last photographs show the walls reinforced with bolts and cement after completion of drilling.

Facilities were provided for testing the drilling capability of the machine
in different axes in surfaces parallel to the structure and sprockets of the machine.

By two machines: Drilling on horizontal surface in perpendicular direction and other directions for placing explosives and destructing rocky surface of the mountain for constructing and continuing wall dam in vertical direction to the extent required.
(Facilities were provided for testing performance of the machine in drillings parallel to different axes in surfaces perpendicular to the structure and sprockets of the machine).

One of the most important accomplishments was that facilities were provided for successfully testing 90 degree drilling completely parallel to the horizon from the height of 30 cm up to the maximum height of the boom of the machine, which was not possible by similar foreign pneumatic machines.

December 1997: Six months after round-the-clock operation of the machines in exploitation site, successfully obtaining written notice:

Satisfaction of the managers of Kosar Dam Project with performance of the machines manufactured in the country and after-sale services provided by Sanee Industrial Co., signed by the project manager and site supervisor of Kosar Dam Project.

Pursuant to the previous negotiations and communications, considering the full satisfaction of the respected operators, repairmen and experts involved in this project regarding the performance of ROC manufactured by Sanee Industrial Co. .... and the information obtained from the positive comments of other related experts, ... this management hereby declares its satisfaction.

1998: Khuzestan: Karoon II dam construction site by Cyber Company affiliated with Ministry of Energy, successfully testing another invention:

During settlement in Kosar Dam site and communicating with experts of various drilling experts, especially operators and foremen, experts of Sanee Industrial Co. felt some needs for drilling and met them to a large extent through new inventions.

By creating air jets and the vacuum resulting from them in head feed of the machine, experts of Sanee Industrial Co. enabled the operators to direct stone powder jets exiting the bores with a high velocity while drilling toward any directions they deed necessary, preventing them from returning to the bores due to concentration and deviation and also from serious damages to the operators and machine. This invention was tested in presence of the managers, experts and users of various sections in Karoon III Dam construction site, which was successful.

1997: Negotiations in Sweden:

In headquarters of Atlas Copco in Stockholm, visiting and successfully negotiating with head of policy-making section of Atlas Copco, Mr. Lee Listroom, about development, stabilization and continuation of the cooperation between Atlas Copco and Sanee Industrial Co. for production in Iran.

In Orebro, negotiations with managers, authorities and experts of various sections of crawler drill manufacturing factory of Atlas Copco and visiting the latest products of that company and reviewing specialized issues and requirements for developing technology transfer and production in Iran.

Following negotiations in Sweden, in December 1997, further valuable written notice of Atlas Copco A.B, signed by its French managing director, Mr. Gerard Verdu.

Emphasizing on continuation of cooperation with Sanee Industrial Co. for manufacturing crawler drills in Iran and delivering the
latest parts and components requested by Sanee Industrial Co. for manufacturing pneumatic crawler drills similar to the machines of Atlas Copco in Iran.

First Exportation of the first Iranian Crawler Drills
and Efforts and Valuable Results Obtained in this Regard

(1998, beginning of the first effort for exportation. - 2002, first exportation.)

1998, after the efforts required inside the country has been made
and production curve has reached its determined peak (exclusive mass production),
Beginning to investigate how to fulfill the first exportation of crawler drills manufactured in Iran
in a method as valuable as possible.

For exporting from Iran under the special conditions of that time, as the first step, Middle East countries and markets were addresses.

The most important factors considered for the first step:

The first important factor was approximation of the language and culture of foreign users and experts with Iranian experts. This advantage made it more possible to communicate and exchange needs and capabilities without any intermediary, effectively helping progress of the objectives.

The second important factor under the special conditions of that time in Middle East was the necessity of existence of security for human resources, place and condition for execution of work and economic affairs. These affairs had special priority for being present in Middle East for executing the work lasting at least 1 year after delivery for guarantee of the machines. For this reason, Sane Industrial Co. concluded that purchasers and users are surely selected from more reputable, effective and active ministries in their governments, having managers and experts more acquainted with performance of the machines in that country.

And finally, after research:

Tajikistan was selected for having the same language in line with the first factor, and its Ministry of Road and Transportation in line with the second factor.

December, 1998: The first travel of representatives of Sanee Industrial Co. to Tajikistan upon invitation by Ministry of Road and Transportation of that country

After negotiations with Tajik authorities in Tehran and upon the invitation by Ministry of Road and Transportation of that country, some representatives of Sane Industrial Co. traveled to Tajikistan for visiting exploitation sites, exchanging information with experts and users of the machines, negotiating with authorities of the related ministries, and getting informed of their rules and regulations governing the tenders as well as quality and quantity of the factors concerned by Sane Industrial Co. for exporting from Iran.
